K-9 "Ato" and handler, Frank Eldredge
K-9 “ATO” is a seven year old German Shephard obtained from the Czech Republic. “ATO” is certified as a Narcotics Detector and Patrol K-9 and together with his K-9 partner Deputy Frank Eldredge patrol Seneca County.
K-9 “IZAK”, the newest addition to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit is a long haired Black German Shepard from the Czech Republic. “IZAK” is currently 20 month’s old (June 2010). “IZAK” has completed his basic explosive detector training at the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
“IZAK” and Deputy Fowler recently graduated from the 320 hour K-9 Patrol and Tracking Course sponsored by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office. “IZAK” is cross trained in Patrol & Tracking and Bomb Detection. This special certification training allows “IZAK” to alert on odors associated with bombs and bomb making devices. Deputy Fowler and K-9 “IZAK” are a welcome addition to the Office and provides us with an important capability in bomb detection.
“IZAK” was purchased under a Homeland Security grant the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office received from the United States Department of Justice.
K-9 “IZAK” and his partner, Deputy John Fowler are a welcome addition to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Division and join K-9 “ATO” and his partner Deputy Frank Eldredge.
“ATO” and Deputy Eldredge and “Izak” and Deputy Fowler participate in monthly training sessions to keep their senses keen.
Both “IZAK” and “ATO” live with their partner handler and their families.
